How it worked
Using our international delivery team, Eclipse provided an exciting afternoon of activity with all delegate participating in what seemed like an impossible challenge. The reactions from the audience at the initial briefing fluctuated from the bemused to the incredulous as the reality dawned on them that they had two hours to construct 3 life sized replica’s of a Sopwith Camel Bi-plane each large enough to seat a pilot.
The delegates were split into 3 groups then subsequently into sub-teams whose responsibilities were the construction of the various plane components.
Conversations took place in a variety of languages, as technical specifications were discussed with all conclusions being conveyed to the teams in the language of the conference. The flurry of different languages turned the conference room into a place that no-one wanted to leave, with groups battling and improvising for floor space and airtime.
As soon as the construction was well underway, two clients were introduced into the mix, their witty improvisation created an atmosphere of competitive Customer Service as the delegates competed to exceed their customer’s expectations with the quality and creativity of the finished aircraft.
The Grand Finale gave the marketing team an opportunity to regale the audience with a unique sales pitch, their version of the aircrafts capabilities would have convinced even the most sceptical client to purchase not just the aircraft but the full service package as well.
"The afternoon event was a real success. The group moved quickly from a mood of disbelief into action - involving everyone in the room and generating high energy and creativeness. The main take-away was a feeling of huge accomplishment by working together - fitting very well with the overall theme of the conference and effectively allowing people to mix with colleagues they had not met in a fun environment. The only sad part of the
day was taking the planes apart to clear the room for the hotel!"
